Just read my fellow FR*A blogger Peachie’s post about a”fake ameteur” utilizing the power of YouTube to get some publicity and I was struck with how much the video reminded me of the following video by Meiko.
I don’t really care if one bit off of the other (although Meiko’s was posted about 7 months before Ms. Digby’s, is singing an original song NOT by Rhianna and is a bit cuter)…but personally I’m really enjoying Meiko’s self-titled debut CD. I highly recommend taking a listen…especially if you are a fan of the Feist like genre (as in Feist from the latest iPod commercial).

Funny you mention these two together — Meiko and Marie Digby are playing on the same bill at the Hotel Cafe in L.A. on Sept. 25. I guess we’ll see which is real!! My money is on Meiko — I’ve seen her before and she’s AWESOME live. And writes her own songs
