Naughty, yet perfect for the holiday is Ingrid Michaelson’s new album, Girls and Boys.
Her witty yet sweet sound on “The Way I Am”, has captured many people’s heart on Old Navy’s latest commercial.

To this commercial success, Ingrid has asked her fans on Myspace:
“..when do you call it “selling out” and when do you call it “succeeding”?”
What do you think? (myspace open forum)

Am I the only one waiting for this nerd’s new album to drop?

The Distillers were a great punk rock band fronted by the beautiful Brody Dalle. I was bummed that the band er, disbanded, but life goes on as Spinnerette. Turns out Brody is working on a new band with music that “isn’t going to be that far removed” from her previous efforts. If this means more music like that featured on her last recorded album, “Coral Fang” that means good news. “Coral Fang” must be one of the most underrated albums in recent memory. Nothing on this album really sounds like their one radio hit, “City of Angels”. I admit It takes a couple of tries, but once you get used to it, you get hooked.
Might I suggest:

Some kids tipped me off to the music of Russian singer Vitas. One of the weirdest things I’ve seen so far (singing wise). Be sure to wait for the falsetto! Out of control!!!

Thanks to my friends, Frank & Anna (and the good people at Albertsons & Coca Cola), I was able to attend one of the most exciting concerts of the year at the Wiltern!
Although we arrived 30 minutes late and missed most of Metro Station’s set (sorry guys!), it was one of the most incredible experiences watching the show lineup.
I’d love to sit here and brag about how awesome all 4 bands were, but I will let you check it out for yourself!
Sit back and enjoy, Motion City Soundtrack + Mae + Anberlin + Metro Station!
I just don’t know why she isn’t bigger than she is.
Esthero is from Canada. The Black Eyed Peas wanted her. She’s fucking amazing, feminist, incredible voice, so femme I thought she was trans when I discovered her in high school. Yes, that’s Sean Lennon performing with her in the video. He wrote this song. They’re tight.
And because I feel like it, an official video by her of another of my favorite songs, We R In Need Of A Musical Revolution. Listen, f’real. Sometimes I blast this on the freeway at 2 AM, just a small way of reminding myself that music and love will be the greatest fuel of the revolution.
After my extensive lobbying efforts, I’ve succeeded! Check out Burning Tree Project’s latest update: just want everyone to know, that we’re here and we didnt dissappear. We’ll have new stuff from the new album up this week along with a new myspace. We have alot of new updates that we havent shared with anyone. For starters, Our new EP Time and Color drops digitally on Jan 22nd. It will be available in stores everywhere sometime in March. Keep checkin back, everything will be up shortly. We’ve been working really hard to get everything done. As soon as everything is done, we really need everyone’s help in promoting. Thanks everyone! -enik
That’s right, they’re naming their album after my namesake. It’s going to be hard to be objective when I critique the EP. But from what I’ve heard so far, these guys belong on Tooth and Nail.
Alright back to work–three more finals to go.
