Do you remember Growing Pains with Kirk Cameron? I always thought Kirk’s character was so cool, living in his parents house but not exactly in the domicile, in the more than spacious room above the garage that is now reminiscent of a loft…and this was before lofts were cool. And of course, there was the dad that was the coolest dad, (who actually reminds me a bit of my dad now, in my partial finite wisdom). Alan Thicke was always strong and courageous, and a leader. Actually, thinking about it now, he had no hesitation in showing love to his wifey. Yes, seemed like every scenes always had an interstitial or wipe with him kissing Carol. I think I even saw a sex scene…or did I…
Once the show ended, television now had a void. There was no Kirk Cameron to be the ideal teenage son, nor the cool dad Alan Thicke. What I didn’t realize that Alan Thicke had a spawn out of television.
It wasn’t until 2 years ago when I heard a song swimming through the darkness of the lounge I was enjoying a vodka tonic in. 23 seconds after the song started, I was intrigued. “Who is this,” I asked. “His name is Robin Thicke”, a friend answered.
“Who?”
“You know, Alan Thicke’s son”.
“What!? you mean as in the cool horny dad on Growing Pains?”
“Yeap, that’s his son”.
“whoa.”
Compelled by the melodic attractiveness of the song, and driven by the pure curiosity of being the son of the legendary Alan Thick, I went out and got the album. I was thoroughly impressed and became a fan by track 4.
I was hoping for a new album after The Evolution of” and now, Robin Thicke is back with Magic off his forthcoming album.
Robin Thicke seems to find the inspiration to the video reminiscent of a childhood growing up in sci-fi, 70’s discos, musicals, Star Wars and when the world was complete magic.
Went to Temple Bar the other weekend. There were good quality acts featured through-out the entire night. I’m always impressed with the crowd at Temple Bar and the consistency in branding.
The first act was Deosick - Not sure if it’s the name of the band, or the singer himself, but the ensemble was great. You can tell they were experienced and it’s refreshing to hear good backup vocals every now and then.

1. Sometimes you can just tell it’s going to be a good night by looking at the crowd 2. Deosick - This act was great. Great singing, and great crowd control.
Next up was Tatum Jones - These three have been in the game for a long time now. I have nothing but respect and love for these guys. Did I mention they killed it?

1. Tatum Jones 2. J Ross Parelli - This girl can sing!!!
The last act of the night was J Ross Parelli. It was getting late and the crowd was dispersing, but she put on a helluva show. Damn, I haven’t heard female pipes like that in a while.
Seo Taiji’s 8th release “Atomos”. Its gonna rock.
First part of Seo Taiji’s mystery project, Moai EP (Moai are the giant heads on Easter Island) will unveil tonight. Following this single will be another EP, then finally the full LP. I guess the sweetest thing about this album is that Taiji have claimed to gave birth to a new music genre called, “Nature Pound”.

4. MOAI (Remix)

As you all know, I am a big fan of mashups and remixes.
Maybe it all started when I was a little kid and I discovered the wonderful combination of mixing cereals together into one glorious bowl of peanut butter, chocolate, marshmallow, and fruity pebble goodness..

I’ve been mixing things together ever since..
I sometimes spend countless hours searching the web for the perfect remix. Now, I’ve found my share of ear bleeding mutants, but once in a while you come across a few gems.
For instance, the rising artist K.O. (who FR*A/Nylon Pink has featured in the past..) is the master scientist behind kick ass tracks.
The famous Hey There Delilah remix…
And now, for your listening pleasure..
His new secret remix, The Ting Tings ft. KO-Shut Up and Let Me Go(Remix)
