Who didn’t hear their breakout song, “Hanging By a Moment,” on the radio back in 2001? The song permeated the airwaves with its infectious melody, deep and husky vocals, and incredibly catchy hook. Within weeks, Lifehouse became bonafide rockstars, garnering a passionate national fan base of teenage and college girls, and the guys that were confident enough to enjoy the deep lyrics in the comfort of their car, dorm and bedrooms.
But it wasn’t always easy for them - and 4 albums later, over 5 hit singles, and countless music placement in television and film, it still isn’t easy.
We sat down with Jason Wade, the lead singer and co-founder of the band and took it back to the start. Take a listen to their trials and tribulations, their successes and their album, Who We Are.
Listen in.

Lifehouse has been on tour with the Goo Goo Dolls, traversing their way across America, into the country’s metropolitans, heartlands, backroads, and hearts of hundreds of thousands of fans. Lifehouse isn’t stopping with just tremendous radio play and their tour. Turn on the tube and catch their hit single, “First Time” on the Dodge commercial. Or check out their online videos of opening beer bottles with random objects, backstage at their Yahoo! Live Sets performance, and their regular blogs on their site while on tour.

The path Lifehouse has been on certainly has seen its successes and failures; and their newly released album,
Who We Are is being put to the test.
Who We Are is showing promise, peaking at number 14 its first week, with their lead single, “First Time” heating up the airwaves all over the country, and maintaining its position in the top 5 rock songs at iTunes since June this year. Lifehouse is proving to be a band with staying power, and they’ve certainly defined “Who They Are”.Listen to tracks off of their new album and check out their videos and photos at their home page:

I LOVE Lifehouse. They’re definitely going to be one of those bands that leave the music because it is time for them to go. They will never die out. Every song they’ve made, has that energy and meaning that all songs should have. I listen to so many genres, and the bands vary, from Hanson to Cradle of Filth. But no matter what, I always come back to Lifehouse for that positive feel. They’ve always been my number one.
Love Ya Guys!!
Crystal.
Lifehouse has been my favorite band since 2001. Thank you for recognizing them and doing a feature on them. These guys do not get enough credit for their music. I have seen every concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and met them 4 times. It isn’t every day that you will get a band that will meet and greet their fans for every show. They truely do appreciate what they have and where they come from and it shows when they perform on stage.
Lifehouse’s #1 Milwaukee Fan,
Lucia DeMarinis
Lifehouse had been one of my favorite bands for a long time. They have a very unique sound; no one sounds like they do. They are also very loyal to their fans. They post blogs daily and that is rare. I love them to death.

Great interview!!!!!
I knew Jason when he was 10 yrs old and poor… He’s always been a great kid and well deserving of his success!
I’ve been a Lifehouse fan since the beginning, and have seen them in concert four times! They are my all time favorite, and I’m actually wearing a concert tee right now. I loved listening to the interview and hearing what Jason had to say. They will always be my favorite, and I hope they make many more amazing albums, and I agree with Gina, I saw them for the closing concert of their tour with Goo Goo Dolls and they only played for just shy of 45 minutes! Definitely not enough Lifehouse for me.
Lifehouse is such a GREAT band! Everytime I see them, I fall even more in LOVE with them. They are so wonderful to their fans. Thanks FR*A for the feature of one of the most AMAZING bands ever!!!
I’ve been a fan since they started, and I’ve seen the 7 times (soon to be 8), I can’t get through the day without hearing their music. Their music inspires me and I love them. I hope to meet them one day and let them know in person how much they mean to me, but until then I’ll be standing in the front row every chance I get!
Lifehouse Rocks!!! I’ve been listening to them since “hangin’ by a moment” And have just seen them for the first time in concert. They are very appreciated to their loyal fans as we are of them. I will continue to be a dedicated fan and supporting this great band always.
lifehouse rocks.they have been my favourite artist which seems forever!
tho stanley climbfall may have been a commercial failure, it was been among the most impactful and heart salvaging albums i have ever encountered. thank you
Lifehouse is the best band ever!
I can’t live a day without hearing at least once ‘you and me’ and ‘everything’
Unfortunately I have never seen them live… shame they NEVER come to Mexico…being so close to the USA =(
but I still hope they can come here someday…
Keep it up guys! you rock! You guys are my favorite band!
I agree with David’s comment about Stanley Climbfall being a fantastic album. Those songs got me through a rough few years, and up until Who We Are came out, it was my favorite. Lifehouse i an essential part of my life, and their songs touch my heart and soul and deepest emotions like no other music ever has. Thanks for giving them the recognition they truly deserve.
This latest album is great! Take all the talent of Jason and the boys, and add the production and writing contibutions from the their manager, Jude Cole (a very accomplished artist himself - get all of his stuff if you can) and you have what I believe is their best, most mature yet!
i absolutly love lifehouse! ive been a fan ever since i heard their first song put on the radio. ever since, ive listened to their cd constantly. im in love w their new cd “first time”. i totally relate to almost every song! they seem like great guys to chill with! best of luck to their future in the music business!
Does anyone know where I can find “Take Me Away” (Acoustic)?
Lifehouse is one of the few bands that I have heard that has the ability to come up with lyrics that are so deep and intimate, and yet with such catchy tunes. I am a huge fan and admirer of Jason’s ability to songwrite and carry the whole band and I was so excited to get to see them for the first time on Oct. 4, my birthday! God bless you all!
