Wow.. and I thought Radiohead was ballsy for allowing people to pay what they want.. but FREE?!!
Pennywise pulled off something no other major release has ever done. FREE ALBUM.
Starting March 25, 2008, download a high quality, DRM-free “Reason to Believe” album from Pennywise’s MySpace page.
“We know that this will piss off a lot of people in the music industry,” says guitarist FLETCHER DRAGGE, “and what do we say to that? ‘Who cares?’ We’ve been pissing people off for 18 years. Why stop now? We have been telling people to get our records by any mean necessary for 17 years. As a band, we decided that it was time to come to terms with the facts. There are a lot of people out there who want their music for free, so we got proactive and with the help of MySpace Records and Textango we found away to make it happen…we couldn’t be more stoked… PENNYWISE FREE TO THE PEOPLE.”
So far their current single “The Western World” is getting a great review, reaching #1 in many rock radio stations.
TURN THAT SHIT UP!
Justice has to be at least in the top ten when it comes to mentions on FRA. That won’t stop me from showing more love. Just in case you missed it and because it hasn’t been mentioned here, but more importantly because its FREE here’s their Xmas mix via AsianManDan
Because I can’t leave you with a post without a visual here’s a video of them live at HARD NYE Music Festival where Steve Aoki kicked my friend in the head crowd surfing.

3 seconds to ignition…
Motion City soundtrack.
Their sound is reminiscent of the catchy pop punk bands of the late 90’s with American Hi-Fi, New Found Glory, SR-71, and Sum 41; except they’ve got something else. A sentiment of maturity splash through the music, lyrically, vocally, and sonically. The combination of pop, punk, dance and rock is always infectious and Motion City Soundtrack certainly captures that well. They’ve been on the Vans Warped Tour. Their second album was helmed by former Blink 182 member and current +44 member, Mark Hoppus. Their current album, released on September 18th, is the natural and sequential step in the evolution of this band, with producers Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys), Rick Ocasek (The Cars) all on board molding the music on the album.
So everyone aboard…the train to Motion City is departing. Better have your iPod ready with your soundtrack.

The intelligent hip-hop group every FR*A reader must check out.
Cyne has established a reputation for producing tracks with love and knowledge. They are easily one of the best hip-hop artists out there today.
CYNE recently completed the recording of their new album, Pretty Dark Things. No release date has been announced yet, but download a free song “Catharsis” from Project Mooncircle’s Wisdom In Chains EP, until it comes out.
