Couped up in my new pad, I finally am forced to see the orange lights of Hollywood.

The adventures began with Politix As Usual - a night of food & drinks hosted by Mr. Kim (of Evil Monito) and Kenny Mac (of 10 Cane Rum).

The setting took place at Providence where delicious drinks and plates were served with practiced timing.

I noticed everyone seemed to have the right amount of drinks just when we were finally seated.
Met some great people and had some great conversations. Thanks again to Rickey and Kenny (stay tuned for my Munny!)

The adventures continued on Friday Night at Hotel Cafe. Big Phony’s cd release party for his album, “Straight to Bootleg” was awesome. It was nice to see him perform with a live band.

Ken Oak’s performance afterwards was amazing as usual. Side note: I think Ed and Bobby should battle off on an improv comedy night.

Afterward I headed out to Beauty Bar with some friends and enjoyed some much needed Macallans 18 (thank you Eric!). I noticed a dood taking photo’s all night, so I figured he needed some photographing himself. On the way out I got a piece of some great drumming. It’s Friday night on Cahuenga and this dood is killing it with some buckets. Got to enjoy the beats as the percussions filled the night sky as we continued to walk down south.

If you’ve ever felt like you know what changes should be made to a sneaker at a major brand, then this is your chance to give your input and get paid! We are looking to put together a focus group in Los Angeles consisting of sneaker savvy, fashion forward people. We are looking for:

JON PHENOM PRESENTS - HAY FAM/A DOCUMENTARY SERIES

Jon Phenom is a self taught clothing designer. He has worked for several action sports brands ranging from Osiris, Ezekiel, to Matix. Currently he is the Creative Director of his own line, Jon Phenom - a full apparel collection noted from the denim capsule collection.

In the early months of 2007, Jon decided to begin a project which entailed documenting the lives of various personalities whom he drew inspiration from. The result is HAY FAM, a documentary series that is the first of many to come. For the debut of the HAY FAM project, Jon interviewed Raymond Roker - Founder of URB Magazine, Rickey Kim aka Mr. Kim - Founder/Creative Director of Evil Monito, Rich Confico aka RichOne - Co-founder and Head Designer of the Cr8tive Recreation footwear line, and Josh Madden - NYC based Stylist. This special screening will be held at the Evil Monito Studio in Echo Park.

For those with a little extra holiday cash i highly recommend going over to EvilMonito.com. Although I’m a poor college student, I just had to pick up the Evil Monito “Keeping It Local” tee as well as an issue of Made Magazine with KAWS on the cover. But lucky you, they are having a blow out sale with some GREAT price cuts on a number of items.

One of the newer items that caught my eye (and my wallet) was a Haze (famous graffiti artist) silkscreen poster. They’re limited edition and signed by the artist. If you have the money, I’d much appreciate you buying me one immediately.
