As you all know, I am a big fan of mashups and remixes.
Maybe it all started when I was a little kid and I discovered the wonderful combination of mixing cereals together into one glorious bowl of peanut butter, chocolate, marshmallow, and fruity pebble goodness..

I’ve been mixing things together ever since..
I sometimes spend countless hours searching the web for the perfect remix. Now, I’ve found my share of ear bleeding mutants, but once in a while you come across a few gems.
For instance, the rising artist K.O. (who FR*A/Nylon Pink has featured in the past..) is the master scientist behind kick ass tracks.
The famous Hey There Delilah remix…
And now, for your listening pleasure..
His new secret remix, The Ting Tings ft. KO-Shut Up and Let Me Go(Remix)

Spread the word,
K.O. is my pick of the week..

I happen to find myself in the green room halls of the ROXY on a Wednesday. What stood to be an ordinary night transformed into a stroll down memory lane with SNAP caps and the Snapple lady. I perused the tables of the green room and expected to see the riddled battlefield of empty cocktail glasses, but instead I saw the vibrant glow of Snapple Antioxidant Waters resting in the hands of musicians.
I happened to pick a bottle up and with one sip, the images of childhood rush back to me. I remember long summer days of riding your bike, coming home to quench your thirst with the cold rush of lemon iced tea. Numerous nights I spent catching the Snapple Lady answering letters with her thick NY accent on the TV. I recall the flavors of peach iced tea or the strawberry kiwi unleashed onto my taste buds with every strangely satisfying POP of the Snapple cap. The Snapple brand defined the era; it was a generation of absolute flavor.
In a changing age where the market is diluted with so many brands promising their fix of life reviving caffeine, fitness promises, and the over-exposed superstar endorsement, it is good to see the classics remain true to their name. Snapple’s new Antioxidant Water does not disappoint with their traditional credo of flavor; the beverage is evolved to cater to healthier living in offering its fill of electrolytes, vitamins, and energy. In the hands of a today’s musician, it redefines the changing generation of originality and great taste. Its symbol is the embodiment of the artist lifestyle.
Snapple is bringing back the “flavor” to the people; now, if only they bring back the SNAP caps again to excite the inner noisemaker in us all.
Definitely, my pick of the week.
Cheers!!

If there is something we do to pass the time besides scrounging for change or taking naps at the park, it’s mastering our pop-locking skills. As you know, the street performance biz is the best way to make that money on the curb…
That is why this week we have chosen Kaba Modern on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew as our pick of the week. You can learn a few moves from these crazy cats…

After searching the USA for the most talented dance crews, MTV has selected twelve groups to compete for a huge cash prize and coveted touring contract. Kaba Modern represents one of two crews from the west coast.
The six members that comprise the team are a representation of a bigger dance crew that originated at the University of California, Irvine back in 1992. The Kaba Modern crew has since been making a name for themselves in the global underground dance scene including a first place win in the USA World Hip-Hop Championship. With their past two performances, we can definitely see why…
You can check them and competition on MTV, Thursday nights @ 10pm ET/PT.
Now, if we could only master the Kid n’ Play routine…

Wut up y’all. Two Guys in a Card-Bored Box here once again coming to you from the streets with this week’s beats.
This week’s pick comes from DJ Lobsterdust. No its not a seasoning you put in your soup to get that buttery lobster flavor.
Lobsterdust currently resides in Long Island, New York where he comes up with the tightest mash-ups between different genres of music. His mash-up of The Killers’ Jenny Was a Friend of Mine and Stevie Wonder’s Superstition was recently featured on Collegehumor.com and he is getting mad love from the mash-up community.
If you’re into music fusion that sounds as good as fusion food tastes, we recommend y’all check out DJ Lobsterdust.
Damn. All this talk about food is making us hungry.

Two guys in a card-bored box here… livin in a box, keepin our ears to the streets. This is our pick of the week.
So what would happen if Alicia keys and Rahzel got freaky? The spawn would be ever so sweet Butterscotch. She was the beat-boxer slash singer featured on America’s Got Talent. She hails from Davis, California, now we know not much good comes out from that part of CA, well besides cow pies…but we digress.
She was raised playing classical piano, and was able to infuse her influence of jazz and hip hop into her original brand of music. She might have gotten voted off pretty close to the end of her season of AGT, but we swear, she’s our pick for artist of the week and we recommend y’all check her out on myspace and youtube.
