The Visitor

The original score for The Visitor was composed by Academy Award-winning composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Finding Neverland). Kaczmarek also composed the beautiful and best-selling soundtrack for Unfaithful. Along with the dramatic score, the CD will include the Fela Kuti song Je’Nwi Teni (Don’t Gag Me), featured so prominently in the film.

The Visitor opens nationwide on April 11, 2008.

For a group that was really only around for few years, achieved much success as well as downfalls. From ten Top 10 hits to inner band scandals, The Mamas and The Papas made much spark in the 60’s.

The other day, DPD and I had a good talk about how we miss hip-hop from the 90’s..
Then wondered, whatever happened to G-Funk??

Incase you don’t know what G-Funk is, Wikipedia describes it as:
G-Funk, or “Gangsta Funk”, is a type of hip hop music that emerged from West Coast gangsta rap in the early 1990s. G-funk (largely derived from slowing the tempo down of funk music) incorporates multi-layered and melodic synthesizers, slow hypnotic grooves, a deep bass, background female vocals, the extensive sampling of p-funk tunes, and a high portamento sine wave keyboard lead—a feature that became the genre’s notable trademark.

Personally, I think its the best form of hip-hop that emerged from the Westcoast (notably Long Beach, CA - biyatch!!!).
