CHECK OUT DJ REVOLUTION CUT IT UP!!
Videos of PAUL DATEH & INKA ONE from March 28th
Part I
Part II
Let’s settle this once and for ALL!
I want to see your Favorite Music Video(s) of ALL TIME!!!
Here’s two of my personal favorites!
Please DO NOT list the artist and title of the music video when you respond with your own videos. It forces everyone to actually watch the video and its a nice surprise sometimes
To post your video, just search your video of choice on youtube.com or other video hosting site then copy/paste the html code provided into the comment field for this entry.
Let the videos begin….

Speaking of Daft Punk, I recently got to see their feature film with my old partner in crime, Devilish. With a pair of tickets on roll call, we rushed out to the Nuart Theater for the midnight showing of ELECTROMA.
I was looking forward to a great night out, but everything took a sour turn as we both witnessed
THE MOST BORING MOVIE EVER MADE!
I was severely let down and I would be giving the film too much credit if I was to say it was “bad”.
In my honest opinion…IT SUCKED SWEATY NUTS ON A HOT AND HUMID DAY! (no homo)
I’de rather watch 2Girls1Cup* over and over again.
On second though, maybe not 2Grils1Cup, but I’de certainly watch Red Asphalt** repeatedly rather than sit through Electroma again.
First of all…how do you figure that these awesome electronic producers from outer space could manage to make such a lame and disgustingly boring movie with NO music. When I think Daft Punk film, I immediately think loud music, thrilling visuals, and electro rock astronauts from outer space. Completely the opposite, Electroma was made up of NO music, boring scenic shots, and 2 guys walking around in elaborate helmets.
90% of the movie consists of simple shots and audio of the 2 guys walking through the desert. One guy blows up and the remaining guy just keeps walking through the desert. THE END. Save yourself the money and DO NOT buy the DVD.
I think the only people who enjoyed it were the raver kids who watched it while on acid and heroin at the same time…whatever that feels like.
After an hour of nodding off we eventually ended up walking out of there as I chanted “BOOOORRING!!!”
People started to take our lead and walked out of the theater right behind us.
I love their music, but their movie is whack city!
Enough hating for today…Now go bump ROBOT ROCK as loud as you can!
or better yet, watch my favorite Daft Punk video that forever plays in my mind…
*If you don’t know what I’m talking about…believe me, you don’t want to know. Or do you?
**For those with good driving records, Red Asphalt is that gruesome DUI video that they show to everyone at Traffic school.
SWERVE FESTIVAL
[Film, Music, Art] - SEPTEMBER 28-30
I just checked out the opening night of this festival by catching the premier of Doug Pray’s new documentary called SURFWISE.
This great film fchronicles the lives of the surf legend, Dr. Dorian “Doc†Paskowitz, and his beautiful wife and 9 amazing children!

I recently spent my Sunday afternoon geeking out at the Los Angeles convention center for a Wired event called NEXTFEST. The event featured innovations in communication, design, entertainment, exploration, health, play, robots, transportation, security, and green living. It was super cool to see all the new technology…especially the incredibly neat Morpho Towers!
I took video, but my footage does not do the Towers any justice.
Luckily, there is a very clear video on youtube.
OK, so the Morpho Towers and pretty much EVERYTHING else at Nextfest was awesome.
All except this one thing….A ROBOT DJ.
Can this Robotic DJ eventually become a FR*A????
I’m gonna bust out my Hater-ade on this one and say- NO.
At this point, the robot DJ is still very experimental (aka weak-sauce). It can play records, but that’s about it. If you think about it, these two robotic DJ arms are merely super-expensive jukebox players that have the ability to move records forward and backwards in a super-annoying & inefficient way. The AI still does not have an understanding of beat-matching, rhythm, or style. The two robotic arms are limited to:
Sounds like a jukebox to me…except for the Forward and Backwards part.
I hope the day NEVER comes, but if fellow DJs start losing gigs to these frickin Robots…I’m gonna go medieval on these soulless pieces of shit with a baseball bat - OFFICE SPACE style. WUT!?
GO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL DJ!!!
